音無川付加体が分布する渓谷です。海溝の海底扇状地に堆積した砂岩泥岩互層、付加体のスラスト（低角な逆断層）に伴う破砕帯、褶曲した地層を見ることができます。泥岩層が分布するエリアは側方侵食により谷幅が広く、篠尾の集落が形成されています。

In the area where the mudstone layer is distributed, the valley width is wide due to lateral erosion, and the village of Sasabi is formed.
