樫野埼灯台は明治3年に初点灯した、日本最初の洋式石造り灯台です。石材には、古座川町産の”宇津木石”が用いられています。”宇津木石”は古座川弧状岩脈の流紋岩質火砕岩です。周囲には、トルコ軍艦遭難慰霊碑やトルコ記念館があります。
