「紀伊続風土記」には、この石が川の流れる音を反射して鳴るので成川の地名の元になったと書かれている巨石です。熊野層群の砂岩でできています。

It is a huge stone that is said to have been the origin of the place name of Narukawa because this stone reflects the sound of the river and sounds in "Kii Shoku Fudoki". It is made of sandstone from the Kumano Group.
