牟婁付加体の砂岩と泥岩の選択侵食により形成された河床地形をうまく利用した、真砂舟の船着場です。”真砂舟”は昭和20年代まで、古座川流域の主要交通機関でした。近くに交通の要所として栄えた真砂集落跡が残ります。
