Takinohai
This strange rock full of holes is called "takinohai". This rock is made up of sand and mud deposited on the seafloor about 18 million years ago. These myriad holes are called "potholes" and are the rotation of stones at the bottom of the river that make holes in the riverbed.
(The rock needs to be hard enough to make such a hole, but the magma activity that occurred about 14 million years ago is said to be the heat source.)
In the summer, a kind of goby, Sicyopterus japonicus, can be seen climbing this waterfall in search of food. This is because the suckers are well developed. (Show the image of ボウズハゼ)

These myriad holes are called "potholes" and are the result of the rotation of stones at the bottom of the river that make holes in the riverbed.
