彦五郎堤防は富田川の右岸に位置し、約１ｋｍにおよぶ長大な堤防です。氾濫を繰り返した富田川の治水のために人柱になったという彦五郎の伝説がある堤防です。堤防上に4基の石塔が建ち、１基は人柱彦五郎顕彰碑、１基は明治洪水招魂碑です。
