熊野層群の砂岩泥岩互層に発達するカレントリップルマーク（漣痕）の大きな露頭です。かつて海底であった砂の表面に水流によって形成された堆積構造です。その後に隆起して、現在は40〜50°谷側に傾斜した砂岩層の表面に残されています。
